The Power of Walking

The Rose & Crown, Sandridge. Our starting point on 10th Feb 2014

On the 10th February 2014 we took our first steps around the World and I am delighted to report that after our first week of walking we managed to clock up the following:-

No of declared steps:  649,867

Distance covered:        455km (based on average step length of 0.7m)

Walking west from the Rose & Crown in Sandridge, via Oxford and Gloucester , we headed into Wales and made our way to Fishguard ferry terminal, Pembrokeshire. Our declared steps for the first week got us 30km off the coast of Ireland and we are currently on a Stena Line Ferry heading for the Port of Rosslare, Co Wexford, Eire. Fingers crossed for calm waters as we wait for next week’s steps to get us to shore.

The next part of our journey will see us walking across Southern Ireland towards Galway Port where I have arranged for the newest Super yacht Assam to take us across the Atlantic towards Sydney, Nova Scotia
